The Singaporean businessman and owner of Valencia from Spain, Peter Lim, has decided to put the Andalusian club up for sale for 400 million euros amid the institutional crisis the team is experiencing. The 2024/25 season will be remembered in Valencia for the club's internal crisis, managed by Lim and Layhoon Chan since July 2014, when Lim acquired the majority stake of the Andalusians.
In these ten years, Valencia has only won the Copa del Rey in 2019 and has been close to losing their category several times. Currently, the team is in eighteenth place with 23 points, in danger of being relegated to the Second Division, which hasn't happened in 38 years. Due to the institutional crisis and the pressures from the Valencia fans for his resignation, Lim has decided to sell the club for 400 million euros.
The goal of the sale would be to address issues such as the restructuring of long-term debt and the resumption of work on the new Mestalla stadium. It has been reported that Lim has communicated his determination to the Qatari businessman and owner of Paris Saint Germain from France, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who may be interested in acquiring Valencia. In this context, the Valencia club has the Argentine player Enzo Barrenechea.
