The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), through the Sole Judge of Competitions, decided to postpone several matches scheduled for the weekend in the Valencian Community due to the devastating effects of the DANA in the region. Matches in both men's and women's football were affected, including those in the First Federation, Iberdrola First Federation, Second Federation, Women's Second Federation, and Third Federation. Futsal matches in various categories, from the First Division to the Youth Honor Division, were also postponed.
The most notable matches affected included Valencia-Real Madrid, Villarreal-Rayo Vallecano, CD Castellón-RC Ferrol, CD Eldense-SD Huesca, and Levante UD-Málaga CF. The suspension of these matches will extend throughout the weekend.
The RFEF expressed its solidarity with those affected by the DANA, especially with the families of the victims of the natural disaster. For this reason, all matches played the previous day in competitions organized by the federation began with a minute of silence in sign of respect.
The Sole Judge of professional and non-professional competitions communicated the measure of match suspension, thus demonstrating the concern of Spanish football for the difficult situation living in the Valencian Community after heavy rains and flooding.
