Valladolid Driver Flees After Hitting Woman

In a dramatic incident in Valladolid, a driver fled after hitting a woman who intervened in an assault. The victim sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. The suspect has been apprehended by the police.


An alleged aggressor ran over a woman after an argument at a crosswalk in Plaza de Poniente in Valladolid. According to the police version, the individual began to violently assault a man, kicking him as he fell to the ground. The woman intervened to stop the aggression and the aggressor returned to his car trying to escape. The mother stood in front of the vehicle warning that she would call the police, but the aggressor decided to accelerate and hit her, also ending up on the ground.

The injured woman was attended to by emergency services and taken to the Río Hortega University Hospital to treat her injuries. During the incident, the car braked abruptly, which caused a confrontation with another man who was crossing. Despite this, the driver got out of the vehicle and confronted the pedestrian who was holding hands with his two-year-old daughter.

The Municipal Police arrived at the scene after being alerted to a hit-and-run; however, by the time they arrived, the perpetrator had already fled. Following investigations, the National Police arrested a man for a crime of bodily injury. The altercation took place on February 16 in Valladolid, resulting in the man sustaining bruises and scratches, and the woman with a skull fracture, shoulder dislocation, and other injuries.

The driver was arrested and later released by court order. The victims informed the police that the vehicle driven by the man approached the crosswalk at high speed when a father, a mother, and their two-year-old child were crossing. The aggressor assaulted the father, ran over the mother, and fled, leaving the young child visible to the family.
