WhatsApp plans to launch a new feature that will allow users to receive private summaries of long messages in individual or group chats. To ensure privacy, "Private Processing" technology will be used, which ensures that the content is processed in a secure environment without being visible to third parties, including WhatsApp.
The summary will be generated and returned directly to the user's device, without the original messages being stored or retained, allowing messages to be retrieved at any time. However, this feature will not be available in chats with the 'Advanced Privacy' option activated, which prevents the export of conversations, automatic downloading of multimedia, and interaction with Meta AI.
The integration of Meta AI in the upcoming WhatsApp update will allow users to request AI-generated summaries to facilitate the management of conversations with many new messages. For this, a button will be included in the application interface that will trigger the generation of the summary.
The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (2.25.15.12) already incorporates this private summary tool offered by Meta AI. This advancement will provide users with a more efficient way to handle lengthy messages on the instant messaging platform.
