Real Madrid and Barcelona Dominate Financial Club Rankings

According to the Deloitte report, Real Madrid is the world's richest club for the second year in a row, while Barcelona returns to the top three. The total revenue of the top 20 European clubs exceeded 12 billion euros for the first time, with Spanish clubs dominating in revenue levels, while the English Premier League leads in the number of teams in the list.

Real Madrid and Barcelona Dominate Financial Club Rankings

Real Madrid maintained its leadership for the second consecutive year, reaching revenues of 1.161 billion euros, supported by a 23% commercial growth due to commercial rights and new agreements, consolidating its status as the first club in history to exceed the one-billion-euro barrier for two years in a row. On the other hand, Barcelona made a huge leap, rising from sixth to second place with revenues of 975 million euros, returning to the top three for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. This 27% growth occurred despite the team playing its matches away from its home stadium, Camp Nou, thanks to the 'seat licensing' system linked to the stadium's renovation. Atlético Madrid increased its revenues by 45 million euros to reach 455 million, despite dropping one spot to 13th place. English clubs are strongly represented in the list, but for the first time in Deloitte's 29-year report history, no English club managed to secure a place in the top four. Liverpool became the highest-revenue English club, finishing fifth with 836 million euros, overtaking Manchester City, which fell from second to sixth with revenues of 829 million euros due to a decline in sporting results. Manchester United achieved its lowest ranking in Deloitte's history, dropping to eighth place with 793 million euros. Real Madrid and Barcelona top the historical list of the world's highest-revenue clubs, with the combined profit of the top 20 European clubs exceeding 12 billion euros for the first time, with a clear dominance of the Spanish giants. The list includes nine English clubs. Atlético Madrid ranked 13th in the world, reflecting the significant financial power of Spanish league clubs despite fierce competition from the Premier League. The Premier League dominates in terms of the number of clubs, but the Spanish league surpasses it in terms of individual revenue levels: nine English clubs were among the top 20 richest clubs in the record 2024/2025 season, but Real Madrid and Barcelona comfortably occupied first and second place. The total revenue of the world's top 20 clubs reached 12.4 billion euros, an 11% annual increase. Bayern Munich (Germany) showed significant growth, placing third with revenues of 861 million euros, driven by increased broadcasting revenue from participation in the new 2025 Club World Cup system. Paris Saint-Germain (France) ranked fourth with 837 million euros. The list saw a return for Portuguese club Benfica, which placed 19th with 283 million euros, becoming the first club from outside the 'Big Five leagues' to join the list in years. The Premier League dominates in numbers, with nine of its clubs making the top 20.
