Former Employees Accuse Julio Iglesias of Sexual Assault

Buenos Aires, January 13 (NA) – Two former employees of Julio Iglesias have accused the singer of alleged sexual assault and abuse of power. The accusations came to light following a journalistic investigation that lasted more than three years and was published by Eldiario.es in collaboration with Univisión Noticias. According to information from the Argentine News Agency, the women worked at the artist's residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas during 2021 and recounted situations of extreme control, non-consensual touching, and humiliation. For security reasons, both accusers were identified under pseudonyms. According to their testimonies, the work environment was marked by fear, constant surveillance, and threats of dismissal. One of them, a domestic employee, stated that she was called to the singer's room after her workday ended and reported episodes of physical and sexual abuse. "I felt like an object," she expressed. The second accuser, who worked as a physiotherapist, stated that she suffered unwanted kisses and touching on several occasions, both on the beach and by the pool. In addition, both agreed to point out workdays of up to 16 hours and the lack of basic labor rights. According to their accounts, strict rules governed Iglesias's residences, regulating everything from food to the private lives of the staff, creating a climate of submission. Meanwhile, interviews with other former employees cited in the investigation backed the existence of a climate of control and abuse of power in the singer's mansions.
