International Photography Expo «Expojer 2026» to Host Environmental Summit

The International Photography Expo «Expojer 2026» will bring together an elite group of ocean explorers, storytellers, photographers, experts, researchers, and policymakers at the «Environmental Summit» it is organizing on February 2nd under the slogan «Water Suffering». The summit will discuss ways to overcome the challenges facing the oceans and practical solutions for their preservation in light of the growing importance of protecting the marine environment.

The choice of this slogan aims to raise awareness about the importance of seas and oceans, which help mitigate the effects of climate change and carbon pollution. Studies indicate that oceans absorb 91% of excess heat and 29% of total carbon emissions. However, human impacts, such as industrial activity, pollution, and overfishing, threaten the extinction of thousands of marine organisms.

The «Environmental Summit» will enhance its program with five separate exhibitions within the «Ocean and Marine Environment Protection» zone. These include the exhibition «Coral: Towards Extinction and Disappearance» by photographer Alb Can, and the exhibition «A Vibrant Sea», documenting the marine biodiversity of the Mediterranean Sea. Meanwhile, the exhibition «Hidden Treasures of the Sea» by photographer Shane Gross reveals unique stories about the marine environment.

The exhibition «Ocean Forests» by photographer Jennifer Adler documents marine forests over three years on four continents: North America, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica. It highlights their environmental value and the importance of studying and protecting them. Brian Skerry presents a visual narrative of the ocean as a living system that demands human responsibility for its protection and conservation in the exhibition «The Sense of Seas».
