Three arrested after robberies in Palomares del Campo

Three individuals were arrested in Palomares del Campo after being caught stealing from vehicles. They had committed several crimes in the area and are attributed with approximately 20 thefts.

Three individuals were arrested in the early hours from Monday to Tuesday after being caught 'in the act' with what they had just stolen from several parked vehicles on the public road in Palomares del Campo, a small village of about 550 residents in the province of Cuenca.

According to the mayor, Luis Acosta, the events occurred around two in the morning when a patrol from the Guardia Civil station in Torrejoncillo del Rey, which coincidentally was in Palomares that night, stopped a suspicious vehicle and upon searching the car, found all the stolen items.

The detainees were made available to the on-duty judge in Tarancón. They had broken into the bakers' vans and some other vehicles, taking a package from MRW containing sneakers, lottery tickets, and some cash.

In total, around 20 thefts in vehicles have been recorded, and it seems that the detainees are linked to other criminal cases in nearby towns such as Cuenca capital, Vellisca, Campos del Paraíso, Pozorrubio, or Villamayor de Santiago.

In statements to ABC, Mayor Acosta emphasized the importance of apprehending these individuals and expressed relief for the possible resolution of this wave of thefts in the area.
