The case of the chaplain of the Legionaries of Christ accused of sexual assaults on students of the Highlands El Encinar school has generated concern among parents in the educational community. Following the revelation of the first complaint, the National Police have been investigating and calling parents of other possible victims to testify.
The first girl who reported the abuse described her experience, stating that there were three other classmates who were also victims. This testimony was crucial in the investigation to determine the extent of the abuse. According to the case summary, it is suspected that the abuse may have occurred over an extended period of time.
During the search carried out at the priest's communal residence, various electronic devices were seized to collect possible evidence. Additionally, images from the school's security cameras have been requested to corroborate the victims' accounts.
The chaplain has denied the allegations and has suggested that the parents may be acting motivated by his past as secretary of a religious leader convicted of pedophilia. Despite the initial request for provisional imprisonment, the accused is currently free with a restraining order from the school and the complainants. The legal process is ongoing, with the active participation of the Judicial Police.
