Spain's health authorities have recalled specific nut products due to mislabeling that poses allergy risks. Consumers urged to check their stock.

Health Alert on Nut Products in Spain

Nuts are widely recognized as a healthy food, recommended by specialists for their wealth of nutrients and health benefits. However, recent concerns have arisen that sparked controversy regarding their consumption. Health authorities decided to withdraw a well-known brand of nuts in Spain due to potential health risks for consumers.

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN), under the supervision of the Ministry of Consumption, issued an alert for people with nut allergies. This is due to a labeling error in 25 batches of products from the Pancracio brand, where the packaging was confused among different types of nuts, creating a risk for those who are allergic.

Health authorities advise individuals allergic to nuts to carefully check their pantries and refrain from consuming the affected products. This alert originated from a notification from the Rapid Information Exchange System (SCIRI) of the Community of Valencia, although distribution in other regions, including Catalonia, Madrid, Navarre, and Andalusia, was also highlighted.

The withdrawn batches include caramelized almonds, caramelized hazelnuts, caramelized pistachios, selection of dark chocolate, selection of milk chocolate, and mini box selection. Consumers can contact the brand's Customer Service to resolve any questions regarding this alert.
