In the south and east of Spain, a new strong rainy weather has been observed. Storms brought with them heavy rains and thunderstorms, causing large-scale flooding and problems with stormwater.
Many areas in the provinces of Malaga and Almeria suffered from intense downpours that flooded streets and roads. Emergency services were forced to assist people, freeing submerged houses and evacuating cars from flooded zones.
One local resident shared his impression of the weather, saying: "This was a real deluge. I have never seen so much water on the streets before."
