The Arrival of the Kingdom of God and Its Importance

Today, the Pharisees ask Jesus the eternal question about when the Kingdom of God will come, generating a mix of interest, curiosity, and fear. Jesus points out that the Kingdom of God is already present among them, a current reality that manifests in the heart of every person.

Jesus emphasizes the importance of the Kingdom of God being present within each individual from now on. He advises against seeking external signs, as the Kingdom is already among them. He highlights that at the final judgment, the sentence pronounced will resonate in the hearts of people, making it crucial to internalize the Kingdom of God in daily life.

Saint Bernard speaks of three comings of Jesus, with the second being a mystery. It is recognized that the arrival of the Kingdom will be sudden, like a lightning bolt full of light and glory. It is emphasized that the Kingdom is found within each individual, and it is essential to seek it in the depths of their hearts.

In the Gospel of Luke 17:20-25, it recounts how Jesus responds to the Pharisees, indicating that the Kingdom of God comes imperceptibly, present both universally and in each particular heart. People are urged not to seek external signs, but to cultivate the presence of the Kingdom in the innermost part of each one, thus preparing for the final judgment. The importance of having the Kingdom of God present in daily life is highlighted as key to encountering Jesus on the decisive day.
