On January 16, Feijóo made himself available to Sanchez's partners to push for a motion of no confidence, but has ruled it out if he does not have the guaranteed votes. The majority of voters from Santiago Abascal and Alberto Núñez Feijóo oppose a motion of no confidence unless there are guarantees of success, while 44% of those surveyed are in favor and 42% against.
Potential allies of PP and Vox to oust Sanchez through this route, Junts and PNV, have so far rejected supporting Feijóo for the presidency. Despite this, the call for a motion of no confidence is strong among PP and Vox voters. The survey conducted between January 16 and 23 reflects a call for this action.
Although Junts should participate in a possible motion of no confidence, the majority of right-wing voters support it as long as it leads to elections. The proposal is backed by some socialist voters and those from other parties, showing a division in preferences.
Abascal has expressed his support for the motion of no confidence as long as it does not benefit the nationalists and leads to elections. PP and Vox voters are mostly in favor of this action. Despite the political tensions, a motion of no confidence seems distant at present.
In the rest of the political options, the motion of no confidence has little support, except for a majority of PP and Vox voters in favor. Legal and political uncertainty currently surrounds the possibility of a motion of no confidence, and Feijóo will need to renew his endorsement in Congress if this measure is proposed.
