The president of the Spanish La Liga, Javier Tebas, reacted to the threat from the Real Madrid club, the holder of the Champions League title. Tebas was forced to respond to the statement of Real president Florentino Perez, who threatened to participate with his team in the Eurocup. According to him, Real Madrid will not be able to participate in the Champions League if it joins the new super league.
This leads to the fact that the club loses sponsors and the possibility of attracting top players. Tebas emphasized that participation in the super league would result in exclusion from the national championships. He also added: "It is impossible to simultaneously participate in national championships and the super league."
The president of La Liga asserts that clubs like Real Madrid are trying to disrupt the football structure for their own benefit. Tebas assured that the league of Spanish clubs will protect its interests and adhere to official norms in football.
