The Public Prosecutor's Office of Spain requested the cancellation of the court proceedings against the former president of the Spanish football union on Thursday.
The request for prosecution is based on the fact that the court proceedings were practically closed after a ruling made in June by the Federal Court in this stage of the appeal. The prosecution is now asking the court to practically remove the process from the area of judicial jurisdiction.
"Taking into account the subsequent peremptory indictment, plans and application of evidence, it is extremely and formally complicated to analyze the actions of the accused with difficulties," the prosecution said in the request's motivation.
