Defenders of marijuana legalization recently held a peaceful march in the city center. Among their demands, the right to home cultivation, respect for all uses of the plant, and an end to harassment of consumers stand out.
According to one of the protesters, "it is essential to recognize the medicinal and recreational benefits of marijuana, as well as the importance of guaranteeing the rights of those who choose to consume it responsibly."
The mobilization saw participation from people of all ages and sectors of society, who carried signs with slogans in favor of legalization and chanted calls to end the stigmatization of cannabis users.
Additionally, there were calls to the authorities to take into account the demands of the protesters and to move towards a fairer and more equitable regulation regarding marijuana use. Organizers announced that they will continue with this type of action to raise awareness of their cause and press for concrete changes in current legislation.
