Call for the resignation of the attorney general in Spain

A survey reveals that 59.4% of Spanish citizens are requesting the resignation of attorney general Álvaro García Ortiz, while 30% is concerned about the country's economic situation.

According to a survey conducted by GAD3 for ABC, 59.4% of Spaniards believe that the Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, should resign following an investigation by the Supreme Court. This percentage highlights the majority opinion of the population on this issue.

Additionally, it reveals that among the problems that concern citizens the most, corruption and fraud, healthcare, immigration, and unemployment stand out, with the latter two being the main sources of concern. Health and fraud rank fifth and sixth on the list of concerns, each receiving 11% of mentions.

The survey also shows that the call for resignation is stronger among those with a higher level of education. For example, 65% of individuals with university education advocate for García Ortiz's resignation, compared to 45% of respondents who have only completed primary education.

Regarding the economic situation and political issues in general, these rank second and third in terms of concern for Spaniards, respectively. It is noted that the request for the prosecutor's resignation is particularly strong on the political right, being greater in the People's Party than in Vox.

In terms of support or rejection of the resignation, there is a fairly balanced division among different voter groups. In the case of García Ortiz's departure, opinions lean towards resignation, but there are significant variations based on political affiliation and gender of the respondents.

In conclusion, the survey reflects the majority stance of Spanish citizens regarding the resignation of the Attorney General, also highlighting the main concerns of the population on issues such as immigration, unemployment, healthcare, and corruption.
