Sumar Dismisses Director After Errejón's Resignation

Sumar has dismissed Marta Sánchez Abraldes from her role as director following Íñigo Errejón's resignation due to harassment allegations. This decision reflects the group's restructuring amidst recent scandals.

Sumar has decided to dismiss Marta Sánchez Abraldes, chief of staff of former parliamentary spokesperson Íñigo Errejón, as staff of the plurinational group in Congress, according to parliamentary sources reported to Europa Press. Although her departure has not yet been published in the Official Bulletin of the chamber.

Marta Sánchez joined the temporary staff of Congress in July 2024, proposed by Sumar, as an assistant to the parliamentary group and assigned to Errejón, with whom she had already collaborated since the previous legislature when he was a deputy for Más País.

After Errejón's resignation last week amid accusations of harassment and sexual violence by several women, the group's leadership decided to dismiss Marta Sánchez as chief of staff, although she no longer has any connection with the formation in Congress.
