At a ceremony held in Esquivias, Miguel Díaz Torrejón, known as Manganini, was honored for his outstanding football career at CD Esquivias. Throughout 23 consecutive seasons, Manganini demonstrated not only his skill on the field but also his sportsmanship towards his rivals and referees.
The honoree, who is currently 78 years old, received an emotional tribute in the presence of local authorities and club members. Among them were the Councilor for Sports and Physical Activity, the editor of the book that was presented to him, and other municipal and sports representatives.
Miguel Díaz Torrejón is the number 2 member of CD Esquivias and has an impressive fair play record: throughout his career, he only received four yellow cards and never a red card. This fact is highlighted in the book "The Golden Age of Toledo Sports" written by journalist Teodosio Díaz, who was also present at the event to personally present him with a copy.
