Kerry Kennedy, president of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Spain Foundation, highlights the importance of addressing human rights abuses during her recent visit to Bilbao. She aims to promote justice and peaceful change in the region.

Kerry Kennedy, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy, has been in Bilbao this week to establish relationships between the foundation she presides over in Spain and regional institutions. During her visit, she held meetings with various local authorities and organizations working in the field of human rights in the region.

At a dinner at the Hotel Carlton in Bilbao, Kerry Kennedy addressed issues such as the importance of highlighting human rights abuses in Western Sahara by the Moroccan regime. She also emphasized the fight against organized crime and the need to promote peaceful education for children, keeping them away from threats and violence.

In her statements, Kerry Kennedy referred to the importance of addressing child slavery and the abuses committed by the mafia around the world. Additionally, she mentioned concerns about the current geopolitical situation, particularly regarding U.S.-Russia relations.

Despite the fatigue from the recent passing of her mother, Ethel Kennedy, Kerry remained committed to her work and highlighted the importance of continuing to fight for human rights and democracy. In her meetings in Bilbao, she tackled sensitive issues such as terrorist violence in the Basque Country and the need to promote peaceful change in justice and human rights. Kerry Kennedy expressed her concern about the breakdown of consensus within the Spanish Government regarding Western Sahara, which has raised questions about the elections in the country.

Amid a busy agenda filled with meetings and exchanges, Kerry Kennedy reaffirmed her commitment to defending human rights and promoting peaceful education, stressing the importance of standing firm in the face of threats and violence.
