The President of the Andalusian Board, Juanma Moreno, has fulfilled his promise to modernize the university offerings in the region after fourteen years of stagnation. This project involves the creation of 40 new bachelor's degrees, 126 master's degrees, and 22 doctoral programs at public universities in Andalusia.
The update of the university offerings aims to adapt them to the changing demands of the labor market. One of the highlights is the commitment to internationalization, with the creation of 37 interuniversity degrees involving various national and international institutions.
Among the new degrees offered are innovative aspects such as Artificial Intelligence, Renewable Energy Engineering, Intelligent Logistics and Transport, among others. These programs will be taught jointly at different universities, including collaborations with foreign institutions.
The implementation of the new bachelor's and postgraduate programs is scheduled to begin in the next academic year, covering areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), as well as disciplines related to Social Sciences. There is a special emphasis on training in emerging sectors with high labor demand, such as Robotics Engineering, Scientific Computing, Data Analysis, and more.
In addition to the bachelor's proposals, innovative master's and doctoral programs are included, such as Mathematics and Philosophy, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, Occupational Therapy, among others. These new degrees aim to meet the current needs of the labor market and technological evolution.
The reorganization of the university offerings also takes into account the optimization of public resources, the modernization of academic programming, territorial cohesion, and attention to areas at risk of depopulation. The importance of strengthening the connection between higher education and the local environment to promote regional development is emphasized.
This updating process will be carried out progressively, promoting the diversification and quality of the educational offerings in Andalusia.
