The president of the Cuenca Provincial Council, Álvaro Martínez Chana, informed the Provincial Corporation at the beginning of the ordinary Plenary session in October about the solidarity with the victims of the serious floods that have affected several regions, including the province of Cuenca. They joined in a minute of silence as a sign of support for those affected and respect for the victims, called by the FEMP and attended by the Minister of Economy, Companies and Employment, Patricia Franco.
In the same Plenary session, the modification of credits to invest in the repair of roads damaged by the DANA from the previous year that impacted the province was unanimously approved. For her part, the spokesperson for the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, Esther Padilla, announced that they would request the Central Government to declare a Disaster Zone for the areas affected by the DANA, with a priority focus on assisting the affected individuals.
Padilla expressed her condolences to the victims and emphasized the importance of supporting the families of the missing and deceased individuals. Rescue and assistance work is concentrated in the municipalities of Letur (Albacete) and Mira (Cuenca), highlighting the Cuenca Provincial Council's request to the Central Government to declare the province as Seriously Affected Zone, especially in localities such as Mira, Talayuelas, and Aliaguilla.
