In recent years, the Junta de Andalucía has implemented various lines of support to promote the construction of rental housing at affordable prices, facilitating the path for public and private developers. Thanks to subsidies of nearly 300 million euros, 140 projects have been carried out in the eight provinces of Andalusia.
Among the figures provided, the data indicating the launch of projects in different provinces stand out. For example, in Almería, 11 projects have been completed with 263 homes, receiving subsidies worth 11.5 million euros. In Cádiz, 22 projects with 714 homes have been built thanks to subsidies of 34 million. In other provinces such as Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, and Sevilla, various projects have also been carried out with significant investment amounts.
Councillor Rocío Díaz emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen these actions, mentioning the approval of a decree law to increase the supply of affordable housing, with the goal of reaching 20,000 protected homes within five years. The Junta de Andalucía underscores its commitment as the administration making the most efforts to guarantee access to housing in the region, as stated by the Ministry of Development, Territorial Articulation, and Housing during a presentation at the Welcome Home salon.
According to the data provided by the Ministry, the construction of protected housing in Andalusia has tripled since 2019, reaching 12,000 homes by the third quarter of 2024. This overall investment could exceed 4.2 billion euros by 2029, reflecting the commitment of the regional administration in this matter.
