Police Arrest Gang Involved in Shooting in Málaga

National Police agents arrested three men from the same clan this Friday in El Ejido, Almería, for allegedly being implicated in a shooting that took place last Sunday in a neighborhood of Málaga. This incident was reportedly motivated by the sentimental breakup of a couple who shared several children in common.

According to the National Police, the detainees face charges of attempted homicide, serious threats, illegal possession of firearms, and public disturbances. The Robberies and Violent Crimes Group of the Provincial Police Station of Málaga carried out the arrests after confirming that shots had been fired at a ground-floor residence in the Palma-Palmilla Market.

Investigations reveal that the attacked residence is home to a man who was previously a partner of a neighbor from El Ejido. Following the shooting, emergency services were activated, and patrols from the Local and National Police arrived at the scene.

Police inquiries suggest that the shooting originated from disagreements between two families linked to the couple with children in common. Three men from the same clan allegedly fired at the victim's residence in La Palmilla, Málaga, after traveling in two vehicles.

At the time of the shooting, the woman and her current partner, one of the detainees, had traveled from Almería to Málaga to pick up the children who were with their biological father in La Palmilla, but none of the residents were injured. The visual inspection of the residence revealed embedded bullets and ballistic traces.

Before the shooting, according to the investigation, a confrontation occurred between both parties in a park. Operation "Gallo" began on January 19 in La Palmilla, where several calls were received reporting an incident with firearms. After an extensive operation in El Ejido, the suspects, all with criminal records, were arrested.

As part of the police intervention, home searches were conducted in the Almerían locality, and a shotgun, cash, and marijuana were seized. The ocular review evidenced the use of an automatic weapon based on the collection of numerous casings and bullets at the shooting scene.
