Jesús Navas, the football player with the most titles with the Spanish national team and Sevilla FC, as well as the director of research strategy in Artificial Intelligence at Google Research, Pilar Manchón, will be named Favorite Sons of Andalucía in 2025.
Navas, who retired as a player last December, is considered the best player in the history of Sevilla FC. During his career, he accumulated 43 platinum records with six albums, becoming the artist who sold the most records in Spain in the past decade.
With his retirement, Navas concluded a successful career mainly linked to Sevilla FC, except for his spell at Manchester City between 2013 and 2017. He is the only footballer to have won four major championships with the Spanish national team: one World Cup, two European Championships, and one Nations League. He also holds the record for the most matches and victories with Sevilla, as well as having won eight titles with the club.
On the other hand, Pilar Manchón, originally from Seville, is the director of research strategy in Artificial Intelligence at Google Research and has spent a decade working in Silicon Valley. She founded the company Indisys in 2003, which created a virtual assistant used by companies such as El Corte Inglés, BBVA, and Mapfre.
The award ceremony will take place on Friday, February 28, at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville. These recognitions are considered the highest honorary distinction awarded by the regional administration in recognition of the exceptional merits made for the benefit of Andalucía.
