Toledo Carnival Parade Canceled Due to Rain

Toledo has canceled its major Carnival parade scheduled for Saturday due to persistent rain. Authorities are considering rescheduling the event while keeping other activities, such as concerts, on schedule.

The great Carnival parade in Toledo scheduled for this Saturday was suspended due to adverse weather conditions. The City Council announced the decision after a meeting with the participating groups, prioritizing the safety of those present and the members of the groups. The possibility of rescheduling the parade on a new date is being considered.

It was expected that 28 groups, from different municipalities in Toledo and Ciudad Real, would parade in the event. The cancellation caused great disappointment among the participants, who had been preparing for months for the parade, as well as among the inhabitants of Toledo who were looking forward to witnessing the event.

José Vicente García-Toledano, the councilor for Celebrations, along with technicians and the Local Police, has been in communication with the participants waiting in Coronel Baeza to provide instructions. For now, other scheduled activities for the day remain pending, depending on the evolution of the weather.

The Celebrations Department has proposed an alternative date and ensured financial support to all the groups that were going to participate in the parade. Kiko Rivera, one of the artists scheduled to perform at the event, expressed on social media his excitement about returning to Toledo, a city where he lived during his student days.

The responsible councilor admitted that the decision to cancel the parade was not easy, acknowledging the effort of all involved in the preparation of the event. The concert scheduled for the night remains until further notice.
