The Puy du Fou Spain company has presented its new show, "The Drum of Freedom," inspired by the War of Independence. Erwan de la Villéon, the company's CEO, emphasized the importance of honoring those who died in defense of the homeland and freedom through this tribute. Composer Fernando Velázquez, responsible for the music of the show, pointed out the emotional connection with the history it aims to convey.
At the premiere event, the relevance of telling the story of Toledo, Castilla, and Spain was highlighted, just as the history of France is told in the park. The CEO mentioned the importance of each country having its own Puy du Fou, thereby conceptualizing the expansion of the park to other nations.
"The Drum of Freedom" is one of the eight shows offered at Puy du Fou, showcasing the magnitude and quality of the productions. Despite adversities, such as the cold and rainy weather on opening day, the park managed to attract thousands of visitors eager for history and entertainment.
With more than 1,100 direct employees and nearly 3,000 indirect jobs, Puy du Fou not only aims to entertain but also to contribute to the economic growth of the region. De la Villéon mentioned future expansion plans to other countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy, and Mexico, highlighting the versatility of stories to explore.
The CEO celebrated the success and the reception from the public, highlighting the positive impact that Puy du Fou has had in the area. With a global vision, the company seeks to continue building historical narratives that excite and educate its audience, maintaining its commitment to artistic and cultural excellence.
