In the interview that took place on Antena 3's program 'El Hormiguero', the socialist President of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, was re-elected as leader of the PSOE in that autonomous community with an overwhelming 99.4% support. During the conversation, García-Page addressed several topics, such as the national situation, his political career, and his current position in the party.
Regarding other federation leaders who have clashed with Ferraz, such as Juan Lobato and Luis Tudanca, García-Page chose not to comment, and instead spoke extensively about his relationship with his twin brother, who left the PSOE a few years ago. He also shared his opinion on the amnesty for those he considers responsible for the "institutional coup" in Catalonia in 2017.
During the interview, Emiliano García-Page mentioned his lack of closeness to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez. He criticized Sánchez's fragile mandate and expressed doubts about the direction the Government is taking. Additionally, he referred to Sánchez's personality as someone ambitious, although he questioned his objectives.
Regarding his stance within the PSOE, García-Page defended his critical position towards Catalan independence supporters and raised the need to explore agreements with the Popular Party rather than relying on formations like Bildu. He also revealed that he was targeted by ETA while working alongside José Bono. In relation to the national legislature, he expressed his perception that it is a dead end following the recent setbacks suffered by the Government in Congress.
Emiliano García-Page concluded the interview with comments on Sánchez's political ambition and dismissing his involvement in corruption matters.
