Cyberattack Disrupts Toledo Municipal Services

The website of the Toledo City Council and its electronic headquarters were victims of a cyberattack by a Russian hacktivist group, which caused problems in carrying out online procedures for a morning. This incident also affected other institutions such as the Valladolid Provincial Council, as well as the city councils of Barakaldo and Donostia.

The IT department of the city council has been working to restore the service affected by the attack. Despite the initial interruption, telematic access to the municipal website of Toledo has been restored and users can now proceed with their transactions normally.

According to municipal sources, when trying to access www.toledo.es, an error message was displayed indicating problems with the connection to the database. These inconveniences were the result of the actions of a Russian hacktivist group, whose motives and extent of the attack have not been detailed.

In statements reported by ABC, a municipal spokesperson expressed: "We regret the inconvenience caused to citizens. Our technical team has worked tirelessly to resolve this issue and ensure the security of our systems."
