Firefighters from the Valencia City Council are working to extinguish a fire that started in a bingo hall in the city center, near Plaza España. The incident has generated a large amount of smoke in the area and has led to the closure of several road access points. According to municipal sources, seven fire teams and an ambulance have been dispatched to the site.
The homes in the affected building and the adjacent ones have been protected and show no signs of smoke thanks to the ventilation carried out in the stairwells to ensure the evacuation of residents. Fortunately, it was not necessary to evacuate anyone, as those affected had left the building on their own.
As a preventive measure due to the fire, the Traffic Management Center of the City Council has closed access to Pintor Benedicto from Pérez Galdós and Gran Vía Ramón y Cajal avenues. So far, no injuries or serious damages have been reported as a result of the incident.
