Castile and León and the Community of Madrid have announced that they will work on a joint project to commemorate the centenary of the Generation of '27. The aim is to pay tribute to prominent figures not only in the literary and poetic field but also in painting, music, bullfighting, and all artistic expressions.
The Minister of Culture of the Community of Madrid, Mariano de Paco, revealed this initiative during a visit to the exhibition dedicated to Gregorio Fernández and Martínez Montañés at the Cathedral of Valladolid. This exhibition has received nearly 100,000 visitors and has been praised for its unique content and the success it has had.
Gonzalo Santonja, a homologous figure in Castile and León, celebrated the positive impact of the exhibition, highlighting the gathering of artistic wonders that are unlikely to be seen together again. Accompanied by the Secretary General of Las Edades del Hombre, Enrique Martín, representatives from both communities toured the exhibition, emphasizing the influence and aesthetic parallelism between artists from different regions.
In this context, the recent presentation at the Real Casa de Correos of the Holy Week of Valladolid was mentioned as part of the collaboration between both regions. Both Castile and León and the Community of Madrid agree on the importance of culture to unite and on the defense and preservation of artistic heritage as a future legacy.
