During a meeting in Valladolid with members, supporters, and the party coordinator in the Community, Gemma Villarroel, the Secretary General of Ciudadanos, Carlos Pérez-Nievas, highlighted that the organization continues to exist and work. He called on those who wish to join to form an alternative in the upcoming elections, stating that Ciudadanos is ready for any electoral date, even if they are advanced in Castilla y León, the first autonomous community that will hold elections according to the calendar.
In this context, Pérez-Nievas emphasized Ciudadanos' willingness to open its spaces to leaders outside the party, with the aim of building a stronger and more solid project. Emphasizing the need to awaken consciousness, he pointed out that the organization will continue to be present in Castilla y León, offering its narrative, commitment, and strength as part of an alternative to the bipartisanship.
On the other hand, the Secretary General stated that Ciudadanos officially maintains a seat in the Cortes, currently represented by the Mixed Group's representative Francisco Igea. He highlighted the talent that exists among the party's grassroots and the willingness of many members and supporters who remain committed to the values and principles of Ciudadanos.
Regarding the upcoming elections and the current situation, Pérez-Nievas acknowledged that the organization has lost some of its strength, but insisted on the importance of expanding the political space they represent. In this sense, he expressed the need to work alongside those who share the decency of belonging to the party, acknowledging past mistakes and successes as part of the improvement and renewal process.
Amid a political landscape marked by social discontent, Ciudadanos is open to incorporating new members who share their vision of building a solid and ethical alternative. Pérez-Nievas called to awaken civic consciousness and work together to strengthen the political project of the orange organization in Castilla y León and beyond.
