The Government is in the middle of negotiations with insurance companies to renew the Muface agreement, a process that has been stalled for three months. In this context, Muface estimates that a 24 percent increase would be sufficient, which represents an improvement over the Government's initial offer of 17 percent.
The province of Córdoba has 32,402 Muface beneficiaries, and recently about twenty mutual members protested on Vallellano Avenue due to the delay in the agreement between the Government and the insurance companies. The deadline for this agreement is the end of January.
Amid the protest, a group of protesters attempted to block traffic on the avenue, being contained by the presence of a dozen national police officers and a local police patrol car. Meanwhile, negotiations continue between the Government and some insurance companies.
