Television producer Jaume Roure has filed a complaint against two National Police inspectors for false accusation and reporting, having attributed to him the possible "commission of serious crimes" such as belonging to a criminal organization and treason, in a report regarding the investigation of the so-called Russian interference in the 'procés'.
Roure decided to formally file the complaint against the two inspectors after contacting the entity Irídia. In this regard, Roure stated: "The first thing the report does is assign me a father and a mother that I do not have." The complaint, still pending admission, requests that the two inspectors be summoned to testify.
According to the complaint, Roure's inclusion in the report is based solely on a mention of his surname in a conversation among third parties, which has no relation to the investigated facts and does not constitute any crime. Roure has expressed that these accusations are highly damaging, both in his personal and professional life, as they hinder his work when found in internet searches.
In a press conference alongside the entity Irídia to announce the complaint, Roure detailed that he had not seen one of the individuals investigated in the case nor had encounters with the other in over a decade. According to the transcript of the conversation mentioned in the report, there is reference to the intention to establish communications with Jaume Roure, although the producer claims this has no real basis.
The report in question, consisting of 196 pages, is part of Operation Troya, which investigated the so-called Russian plot of the 'procés'. Despite the Barcelona Court ordering the investigation to be archived last December, Roure decided to file the complaint due to the damage caused to his honor and reputation by the alleged facts, which he qualifies as particularly serious criminally and socially.
The complaint argues that the attribution of crimes to Roure was carried out with "falsity or reckless disregard for the truth" and without evidence to support the conclusions of the security agents. The producer has expressed his commitment to seek justice in this case and to prevent those who defamed him from going unpunished.
