The Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard (UCO) has sent a report to the judge informing about a reset carried out on the Samsung mobile phone of the Attorney General of the State, Álvaro García Ortiz. The UCO clarifies that the reset of the device was carried out by the attorney himself and not by the unit, as mentioned in an email received.
The UCO indicated that the management carried out in the General Directorate of Rationalization and Centralization of Contracting of the Ministry of Finance was unsuccessful, since the responsibility for the mobile devices of the General State Administration lies with another entity, the General Secretariat of Digital Administration.
Since March 7, 2024, García Ortiz has not delivered any mobile device due to disuse or replacement. The UCO emphasizes that the reset of the Samsung A54 terminal was requested by the Attorney General of the State in an email received at the General Subdirectorate of Digital Transformation of the Administration of Justice.
In response to judicial requests, the UCO requested information about the changes of mobile devices by García Ortiz since June 2023, the devices delivered by the attorney since March 2024, and whether the previous devices had been formatted.
The management before the Mobile Office of the General Subdirectorate of Planning and Management of Digital Transformation of the Ministry of Presidency, Justice, and Relations with the Cortes was successful. Partial information was obtained about the mobile devices delivered to the attorney general, including receipt dates and models.
According to a report titled 'FGE Devices Report,' García Ortiz received two mobile devices, one in May 2024 and another in December of the same year. There is no record that the attorney returned his previous device in those dependencies.
