The Spanish cabinet of ministers appointed a new ambassador to Argentina, announcing the conclusion of the diplomatic crisis triggered by statements from Argentine President Javier Milei about the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez in May. In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of both countries emphasized the necessity of enhancing relations between the governments so that they correspond to the level of public and popular ties between the two nations.
In its announcement, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared the appointment of Joaquín María de Arístegui Laborda as the new ambassador in Buenos Aires, according to the proposal of the foreign minister.
