King Felipe VI Reaffirms Commitment to Ibero-America

The King of Spain, Felipe VI, reaffirmed his commitment to the Ibero-American community by receiving the extraordinary Ibero-American Torre del Oro award in the city of Seville. The monarch was honored for his contribution to strengthening political, commercial, economic, and cultural relations among Ibero-American countries throughout his reign and his time as Prince of Asturias.

In his statements during the ceremony held at the Real Alcázar of Seville, Felipe VI emphasized the importance of his official visits to Ibero-American countries, which have allowed him to closely understand the reality and participate in key moments of institutional and political life in the region. The king praised the work of the Ibero-American Community of Nations, as well as the relevance of the Ibero-American Conference and its Summits as spaces to strengthen relations among countries.

The award, granted by the Chamber of Commerce of Seville in collaboration with the Cajasol Foundation, has previously recognized prominent figures such as the former Ibero-American Secretary General Enrique Iglesias, former Colombian President Andrés Pastrana, and the Royal Spanish Academy. In this sense, the award to Felipe VI highlights his ongoing commitment to the Ibero-American region and his efforts in promoting cooperation and mutual understanding among the countries.
