In the city of Toledo, preventive measures have been taken against the risk of flooding due to heavy rains. The possibility of cutting traffic in areas prone to water accumulation, such as Paseo de la Rosa, the tunnels of the TO-23, and areas near streams is being considered.
In Azucaica, the Villagómez stream is constantly monitored to avoid obstructions that could cause flooding in streets and homes. In Valparaíso, La Legua, and Vistahermosa, vigilance is maintained over the Salchicha stream to prevent accumulations in its bed.
The urban drainage system, as well as cleaning of drains and sumps in the city, has been reinforced to address the situation. The Tagus Hydrographic Confederation warns about the danger posed by the increased flow of the river, recommending the activation of protective measures for the population and exposed properties.
The level of the Tagus has reached 448.66 meters above sea level, and an increase is expected in the coming hours. This has led to the flooding of urban areas near the river. Preventive controls have been established on the Valle road at the Degollada stream due to the risk of landslides.
In Santa Bárbara, the Rosa stream is under constant surveillance due to the risk of overflowing. Elevated water levels have been recorded, reaching bins and benches in the area. The Tagus Hydrographic Confederation has declared an orange alert due to the increased flow and dangerous hydrological situation.
In the industrial estate, the drainage system in the Ramabujas stream has been reinforced to prevent flooding. The increased flow of the Tagus has led to the activation of the Special Civil Protection Plan in emergency phase in Toledo, with firefighters, Local Police, and Civil Protection carrying out monitoring duties in vulnerable areas.
