The Government of Spain announced three days of mourning in memory of the more than 70 deceased due to the flooding caused by the meteorological phenomenon DANA. This decision was made by the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, designating the days October 31, November 1, and 2 for official mourning.

In the words of Minister Torres, "The president, Pedro Sánchez, has spoken with His Majesty the King, informing him of the official decree of three days of mourning. Tomorrow, the president of the Government will visit Valencia." He also added that the Government is committed to collaborating with all institutions, particularly with the Generalitat Valenciana, the region most affected by DANA.

President Pedro Sánchez expressed on his social media: "Throughout the afternoon I have been able to talk with @antonioguterres, @vonderleyen, and other international leaders who have shown concern for the crisis caused by DANA." He also emphasized his gratitude for the solidarity and empathy shown towards Spain in this situation, highlighting that the country feels more supported than ever.
