In Andalusia, orange alerts have been activated for rain and storms in several areas. These include the entire province of Almería, the region of Guadix and Baza in Granada, the Costa del Sol, and the Strait of Gibraltar. The probability of precipitation is one hundred percent in cities like Cádiz and Málaga.
This episode of rain will spread throughout Andalusia over the week, also affecting the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with greater intensity in the Mediterranean area. The DANA, which will be located in the Gulf of Cádiz starting Monday, will be responsible for these precipitation events.
Starting Wednesday, uncertainty in the forecast increases. Southern Andalusia is expected to be one of the most affected areas, with Jaén and Almería being the least harmed provinces. Rain will be constant throughout the day on Wednesday, with special intensity in the southwest. Capitals like Córdoba or Seville could experience the largest amount of rain that day.
The State Meteorological Agency warns that Tuesday, October 29 could be the most adverse day of the episode, with rain and storms from Almería to Granada. Rubén del Campo, a spokesperson for Aemet, mentions that intense rainfall is expected in the Mediterranean arc.
On Monday afternoon, the skies will cover much of Andalusia with the first precipitation, which could be intense in the easternmost part of the autonomous community. This weather instability and abundant rain forecast will continue from Tuesday.
It is expected that up to 30 mm of water may accumulate in one hour, with a probability between 40 and 70%. The weekend and the month of November will begin with rain, with the hope that the storm will subside by Saturday and Sunday, especially in western Andalusia. The forecasts will be adjusted as the DANA advances in the Iberian Peninsula.
